Eye Connect Crafts #HappyMail!

EyeConnect Crafts DT BadgeI received my order from Eye Connect Crafts.  Remember they do truly unique chipboard embellishments.  They are pose-able, moveable, eco-friendly, and ready for  you to personalize.

The chip is a great weight - thin, while still having some bulk.  This will make it perfect for card making and mixed media, altered art, and...basically everything I do!

The edges are slightly darker, which I like as it adds to the chipboard.

Since brads are an essential component to the Totem Poppets, I got all the colors of brads.  I like how the green and brown packets have a variety of colors that work together.

I'm looking forward to trying out the Fiskars Eyelet Setter.

My order was rather large...so, here is what I got:

  1. Dragon
  2. Scalloped Wings - Small
  3. Bat
  4. Celebration Bulb
  5. Celebration Stars
  6. Tag - Small
  7. Spider Web - Large
  8. Scalloped Picture Frame - Large
  9. Bee
  10. Crab
  11. Dragonfly
  12. Octopus
  13. Toad
  14. Peacock
  15. Seahorse
  16. Spider
  17. Rain Cloud

Cannot wait to start creating with these!

I had so much fun coloring her.  Next, I had to figure out what else I would include on the ATC.  I had this 1/2 butterfly laying around from a test that I did a few months ago...and all of a sudden I knew she would have one wind. Finally, I had to find a background, this paper I made last summer was perfect.

Then, just when I thought I was done I needed a name for her!  I couldn't come up with one that seemed right.  Then I realized with one wing she would be grounded.  🙂

When I was picking my image for this challenge...the minute I saw the snakes I *knew* that I wanted to do something with the snakeheads and flowers.  I adore how this turned out.  All the dimension, color, and the smile it continues to prompt are all signs of a winning design.

Vintage Christmas Garland

12 Months of Christmas

Optional Theme:  Home for the Holidays VINTAGE THEME

Do you remember Christmas time when you were little? All of us come from different eras and hopefully we all have some fond memories of Christmases past. The look of ornaments, decorations, wrapping paper and cards have definitely undergone changes in their appearances throughout the years. Have you stayed traditional to your roots or have you moved on with the times? Regardless of your style, this month we want to see a card that reflects the Christmases of old.

The minute I saw the circles from Luna Girl I knew what I wanted to make.  A garland.  I think this will be so fun for my nephews to add to their Christmas tree this year!

This is so cute in person...but, after about 100 pictures...I just had to give up trying to get this garland to look as cute in the photos. 🙁

The minute I saw this digital stamps I knew that I had to have it, she is so cute.  She obviously has attitude and something to say!

I used this video as a basis for the colors and how to create the brick.

Perfume Test Strips

The May challenge at So Suzy Stamps is…Thank You!

Challenge May 2015 So Suzy Stamps Craftisan Studios Kim Rippere

 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Did you know that So Suzy Stamps

can be found on Instagram, FacebookPinterest and Twitter.

Yes, you should join us there and find more inspirations and fun!!

I have some lovely perfumes left over from another life.  Years later, they still smell so beautiful!

The perfume bottle stamp from So Suzy Stamps is perfect for many things; including perfume test strips for my makeup desk.  If they can have them in the stores, why can't we have them at home?

I made 6 test strips, a gift envelope for them, and a pot to keep them handy.

Perfume Test Strips:

  1. Test Strips:  Canson Watercolor paper 90lbs. cold press.  Cut using modified Silhouette file.  There is a cut at the top of the circle so these can be easily removed.
  2. Stamp:  So Suzy Stamps - Perfume, inked with Distress Ink - Raspberry, Olive, Peacock, Marmalade, Concord, and Honey.  After stamping I used a mister to get the color to run a little.  After it dried I distressed the edges with the same color DI.
  3. Brad:  This is a purple flower brad.

Bag:

  1. Bag:  Canvas Corp Brands  - Kraft Bag; So Suzy Stamps - Perfume, inked with Distress Ink - Concord; distressed with DI - Concord.
  2. Clothespin

Tester Holder:

  1. Candle Cup:  Wood candle cup, painted with Apple Blossom - Purple Velvet.
  2. Rope:  Jute, colored with High Impact - Olive, wrapped around and tied in square knot.

Submitted:

  1. Art by Miran
  2. 613 Avenue Create
  3. Craft Your Passion
  4. Crafting From the Heart
  5. Creative Fingers
  6. Design Team Showcase

Artist Trading Cards: 10-4-10

So Suzy StampsAs the first So Suzy Stamps Design Team winds up its term, Monica suggested that we all make Artist Trading Cards for each other to celebrate our time together and have something to remember each other by.  I decided to take a project that each person made with a So Suzy Stamps...stamp (lol) and create a personalized ATC with all or some of their own design incorporated.

I was going to do a post per Artist Trading Card...but, decided to do ONE instead!  If you have any questions about these just ask.

The basis for creating each one was something the designer had created for So Suzy Stamps.  I found a project of theirs that spoke to me and used a part of what they created as the focus of the ATC that I created for them.  I didn't try to replicate what they had done, instead I created something new with their vision.

This was a wonderful group to work with!

613 Honorable MentionI thought the idea of a funky funky casual beach wedding sounded like freedom and fun!  Grab the surf boards, get married, enjoy the breeze, enjoy friends and family.  This image reminded me so much of growing up in southern California.

As I was coloring the image I realized that this sort of car had a nickname...woody.  I wanted to incorporate this into the name of the card.  Seemed reasonable, then I started laughing.  That is when I knew it was a perfect name!
