I spent many years in California.  I miss the gorgeous fields of poppies.

Love these easy-to-make simple poppin’ poppies!  Just a little fussy cutting and Glue Dots®.

Time: 15 minutes, plus drying time.

Level:  Beginner

Size: 5 x 7 inches


  1. Glue/Adhering:  Glue Dots® – Permanent Tape and Pop-up Dots.
  2. Paper:  DCWV Garden Charm, DCWV 5 x 7 Ivory card base
  3. Burlap:  DCWV Printed Burlap
  4. Ink:  Mixed Media Inx – Schoolhouse and stylus
  5. Other:  Glossy Accents, Sharpie – Red, Ribbon – Red
  6. Tools (not shown):  Ruler, Craft knife, Scissors


  1. Card Base:  Using premade card, ink the edges and about 1-inch with Mixed Media Inx – Schoolhouse and stylus.
  2. Cut Paper:
    1. DCWV Garden Charm
      1. Red with White Dots – 4 1/4 x 6 1/4 inches
      2. Poppies – 3 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches
    2. DCWV Printed Burlap
      1. Check – Red:  3 3/4 x 5 3/4
  3. Poppies
    1. Fussy cut out two poppies from the poppies paper, check scrap paper.
    2. Color the edge using a Sharpie – Red marker.
    3. Bend the petals toward the inside of the flower.
    4. Apply Glossy Accents to centers, allow to dry.
  4. Ribbon:
    1. Cut a 5-inch strip and trim ends as shown.
  5. Sentiment:
    1.  DCWV Garden Charm – cut out “Celebrate Today.”
    2. Cover flower with Glossy Accents, allow to dry.
  6. Assembly:
    1. Center and adhere Red with White Dots to Card Base using Glue Dots® – Permanent Tape.
    2. Center and adhere burlap to above using Glue Dots® – Permanent Tape.
    3. Center and adhere poppies to above using Glue Dots® – Permanent Tape.
    4. Center and adhere red ribbon with Glue Dots® – Permanent Tape.
    5. Adhere fussy cut poppies to poppies on top layer using Glue Dots® – Pop-up Dots, the poppies do not have to match!
    6. Adhere sentiment with Glue Dots® – Permanent Tape.
