The last quarter of the year has been different!  I traveled to help out family for about five weeks, then the election of the WRONG person, then a roof leak…then, then, then.  As a result, I didn’t get as much crafting done as usual.

This did give me time to reflect on my creativity and think about where I want to go.  The least few years I have been on quite a few design teams.  I decided to do fewer this year.  This will allow me to try some new things and leaves time in my schedule for new things!

One of those new things is drawing.  I have been taking coloring lessons from Kit and Clowder for several years.  I have taken most of her technique classes and quite a few monthly classes.  One thing Alyce does in the monthly classes is occasionally she has you draw the background if you want.  I tried a few.  This was a HUGE step for someone that has always professed that they cannot draw stick figures.  Based on my success with the backgrounds, I tried some simple daily drawing challenges.  They also went well…surprisingly well.

So, I jumped right into learning to draw people.  Starting with the skull, eyes, ears, etc.  You have to start somewhere!  I’m taking lessons from Copic Marker Tutorials.  They are wonderful and I am feeling successful in this new venture.

BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT, this really about showing off some of my favorite project from 2016.  I couldn’t pick a Top 10 or my ABSOLUTE favorites because I needed flexibility.

The most memorable was an ice skate I made for my sister last winter for the SplitCoastStampers design team.  All year it popped into my head.
