I love to make the basics in the kitchen…things that you need but are, generally, basic ingredients in other things.

We ran out of mustard.  So, I did some research and realized that I had everything needed to make a small batch.

The end result is good.  We aren’t mustard hounds and this is growing on us.  I am surprised at the strong taste when tasted alone.  Then when I put it in the sandwich it is mellow. :/

I followed this recipe, sort of.

 

Notes to recipe:

  1. I made a much smaller batch.
  2. Yellow mustard seeds only.
  3. I didn’t have any more open beer to add to added some red wine.
  4. Added some powdered mustard.
