The April challenge at So Suzy Stamps is…Birthday!
Did you know that So Suzy Stamps
Yes, you should join us there and find more inspirations and fun!!
This is an experimental artist trading card for a swap. The idea was to create a postcard with an obvious atc area as part of it…cut down on costs, but >obviously< there will be less embellishments.
I had a really difficult time getting this to photograph well…did my best. You will notice a few different settings!
This doesn’t follow the birthday theme because I used the dragonfly stamp from last month! Last month I created an art journal and the first page used this stamp.
- Postcard Base: Product packaging, 4 x 6.
- First Layer: Black Bazzill cardstock. 3.5 x 2.5 rectangle created with Versamark pen and clear embellishment powder. This outlines the atc so people know where to cut.
- Image: So Suzy Stamps – Dragonfly. I took an svg file and created a stencil with my Silhouette Cameo. I then used Nupastels (bright pink, 2 oranges, and red) to create the color and blended with my finger with the stencil in place. Then I sprayed the entire postcard with Aleene’s Spray Acrylic Sealer to set the pastels and waited for it to dry. Next, I placed the cleaned stencil over the dragonfly. Using the stencil as a guide I stamped the dragonfly again (inked with Hero Arts – Unicorn). I then used clear embossing powder on the white.
