Rich reds, glorious golds and lush greens. These are just a few of the colors generally associated with Christmas. However, you can also find, shades of pink, beautiful blues and royal purples during the holidays as well. This month’s challenge is all about color. However, instead of the typical colors one might see around the holidays, we want to see cards using non-traditional colors.
In order to have a chance to win the prize from our wonderful guest sponsor this month, make sure that your card showcases at least THREE of the colors from the palette below. If you do follow the optional theme, be sure to add FT after your name so that we include you in the draw for the prize.
Remember, you don’t need to follow the theme to link up your cards and earn a free paper each month, and have your name thrown into the year end draw for some extra digital goodies. You only need to follow the theme if you want a chance to win this month’s sponsored prize of a $12.00 gift card from Sami Stamps.
This is a great stamp for paper piecing and allowing your imagination to fly! There is lots of room for your own creativity. I created a cut file tag and paper pieced using Decosse’s Dynamite digital paper as the ribbon, bow, and to reinforce the hole for the ribbon. I managed to use three of the five colors. I’m sure my nephews will love getting this as part of their Christmas Countdown.
- Base: Neenah Solar White #80. I created a print/cut file with Silhouette Studio.
- Ribbon, Bow, and Reinforced Circle: Decosse’s Dynamite digital paper. The bow was attached only in the middle to give the tag dimension.
- To/From: Unity Stamps, inked with Hero Arts – Unicorn, and then embossed with clear powder.
- Ribbon: Royal blue ribbon, and orange/white baker’s twine.
