Still searching for watercolor options that give me something I don’t throw away!  So Suzy Stamps March challenge is watercolor…and it is a challenge for me!

This is another option that I like.  The other one is similar…instead of using the pads it uses the reinker.

I wanted to attempt to create something that I could use as a background for a natural scene.  So, blues.

Process:

  1. Cut watercolor paper to size.
  2. Stamp Distress Inks (Peacock, Ocean, and Jeans) onto parchment paper.  Then mist with water using mini mister (2-3 sprays).
  3. Mist paper with water.
  4. Use a watercolor pen to spread the color around.  I have done this technique before without this step and not liked the result.  I’m not sure if this made the difference, but I like the result this time!
  5. Sop up the remaining color by dragging through the remaining ink on the parchment paper.
  6. Allow to dry.
