Something a little different! I have a little old-fashioned homemaker in me. I like to use less processed things.
One DIY household mixture I have tried is creating my own laundry detergent. Purchasing this so expensive and is tough on my partners sensitive skin. This recipe has cleaned well without creating any problems for sensitive skin.
I have tried several recipes in the last three or four years. The first required boiling! Since then, I have tried other recipes and have decided that I need this to be easy to make as well. So, I have opted for using only dry ingredients. And I use Ivory instead of Fels-Naptha since it is readily available and easy for me to remember.
There are thousands of recipes on the internet for laundry detergent. This one isn’t new or revolutionary, it is just the one I use. Please note that the amounts are somewhat flexible based on what I have on hand. I measure very loosely for this recipe. One recipe for two adults lasts over 6 months.
If nothing else this will serve as a repository for this recipe…I will know where it is! 🙂

If there are any spots that we think need special attention we use spray Oxyclean on those places before washing.
