The February challenge at So Suzy Stamps is…Love!
One of the new stamps at So Suzy Stamps is Love you; how appropriate!
Did you know that So Suzy Stamps
Yes, you should join us there and find more inspirations and fun!!
When I was thinking about this stamp and how to use I had lots of ideas, but none that I could really settle on. None seemed to highlight the stamp and give me something interesting to work on! Until…I remembered I video I had seen of an incredible quiller working on paper profiles for a wedding card. I decided to use this same technique (new for me!) to create the outside of the heart.
I love how the quilled heart gives interest, dimension, and a platform for the sentiment.
- Card Base: Deep red Bazzill card stock, A2, bottom corners chomped.
- Fist Layer: Martha Stewart paper, bottom corners chomped, edges inked with red pigment ink.
- Heart: I sized and shaped the heart in Silhouette and cut it out. I used this as the template for creating the embossed edge for the heart (see video, linkedabove). Heart created with Neenah metallic paper. The edge was done with the technique from above, then paper was twirled to fill in.
- Sentiment: “Love you” is a stamp from So Suzy Stamps, inked with red pigment ink and stamped on the same Martha Stewart paper, edged with red pigment ink. The edges were cut using the template from above so that the edges fit perfectly with the heart below.
