One of the Facebook groups I am in has recently become obsessed with making pinwheel cards.  I wanted to do my own version, here it is!

Also, I have wanted to make one of these quilled stamens.  TIP:  1/8 inch strip doesn’t work that well…1/4 is easier to work with!

Clearly this isn’t a card that can go in an envelope. hahahaha!

Details:

  1. Card Base:  Light blue card stock, A2.  I distressed the edges with Crushed Olive, and stamped with Inkadinkadoo circle stamps to give the foundation some interest.
  2. First Layer:  Piece of scrap paper…perhaps received in a swap?
  3. Pinwheel/Flower:  I made a file in Silhouette.  The papers are all from Kathy Davis Journey paper pack.  Edged with Ocean Distress Ink
  4. Stamen:  Paper rosette also made from same paper, edged with Ocean Distress Ink.  First I made the part the extends up out of yellow card stock, gluing the inside to help it keep its shape.  Then I made fringed part at the top.  This was created by twirling around the top of the first part and then splaying out the fringe.  The final step of this was adding pink glitter glue.  The *FINAL* step was to create a base by twirling some green cardstock around the base.
  5. Ribbon:  Organza ribbon.
