This was made for the Movie Inspired Challenge from Open-Minded Challenges.  My inspiration was Splash…I know, showing my age!  When I think of grown up mermaids with attitude it is Splash not Little Mermaid that comes to mind.

Making this card was particularly fun and I adore the finished project.  I have tried to take some pictures that show the amount of glitter and shine.  So, there A LOT of picture this time!

This is part of my year long “Be Joyful” series.

  1. Card Base:  Canvas Corp Brands Ivory Skinny Card.  Spritzed with Tattered Angels Suede and Nougat Glimmer Mist.
  2. First Layer:  Watercolor paper colored with Distress Inks and then gelatos.  The edges were distressed with a distressing tool.
  3. The coral and seaweed were “fussy” cut from a K&Company paper pack.  Some were colored with gelatos to help them blend in with the color scheme.
  4. Image:  Mistletoe Mermaid by Sami Stamps, Colored with Copics and Copic Glitter Pens.  Her scales and hair are sequins (that I received free with my package from So Suzy Stamps!) with glitter glue in each sequin.

  1. Wonderful project and great inspiration for OMCF challenge! I love how you’ve used the sequins – just wow! And the colours are so delicious, directly from under water. 🙂
