Western BootThis is a fun, quick, and easy card that requires nothing but cardstock, an embossing folder, and your Silhouette.






  1. Paper (all car stock): maroon, ivory, tan, and brown.

Equipment, Supplies, and Tools

  1. Silhouette files: boot, rope
  2. Distress Ink: Tim Holtz, Walnut Stain
  3. Tim Holtz Snips
  4. Embossing folder
  5. Self-healing mat
  6. Guillotine paper cutter (mine is the Costco version)
  7. Omnigrid rulers
  8. Rotary cutter (I adore my the left-handed one!)
  9. Tape: ATG
  10. Glue: Tacky


Card Basics

  1. Base Card:  Maroon 4 x 4.5, (4.0 x 9 scored and folded in half) Also, the card folds at the top.
  2. First Overlay: Ivory, 3.75 x 4; stained all over with distress ink.

Card Decorations

  1. Boot: 2.5 x 3.5 (approx.).  Cut out of tan cardstock with heel and strap from brown cardstock.
  2. Assemble boot with glue.

Western Boot - Inside


  1. Rope cut 3.75 x 4.25 (approx) on brown cardstock.
  2. Place rope of ivory cardstock and trim to fit.  Use snips for better results.


  1. Have all pieces cut and prepared.
  2. Adhere the first overlay with tape.
  3. Center and adhere the boot with tape or glue.
  4. Adhere the the inside with tape or glue.
